Stefan van der Heijden joins Board Royal Barenbrug Group


Nijmegen, 24 June 2010

 

Mr S.A.G. (Stefan) van der Heijden has been appointed as a member of the Board of Barenbrug Holding BV, starting from 1 July 2010.  Mr Van der Heijden will be responsible for the worldwide research activities of the Royal Barenbrug Group.

 

This enlargement of the Board serves to anchor the Barenbrug enterprise’s commitment to research. “Strategic research and plant breeding form a crucial role in our ambition to offer turf and forage grasses/crops for all important climate zones,” according to the Chairman of the Board, Bastiaan Barenbrug.

 

Career
Stefan van der Heijden (53) has been working for Barenbrug as Research Director since 2004. After studying plant breeding at Wageningen University, he worked on a wide range of plant breeding and research projects in different executive functions. He is involved in several national and international industry organizations and research institutes.
