SOS Saves World Cup Soccer

Several of the soccer fields being used for the World Cup in South Africa, including those in Durban and Port Elizabeth, were in very poor condition.  As a final attempt to get these soccer fields in a playable condition, a super quick germinating grass seed was flown in from Barenbrug and sown directly onto the existing fields on arrival.  The desired results appeared on time.

SOS clearThe players are already familiar with Barenbrug's SOS grass and know its quality results.  SOS grass was sown on all the training pitches of the 32 "Team Base Camps." On arriving in South Africa, many trainers immediately praised the quality of the training field.
Although SOS is relatively new, it is already being used in stadiums around the world, including those of European national champions and premier league clubs.  Outside of Holland, teams such as Manchester City, Schalke 04 and the German champions Bayern München have also recognized its benefits.
The new SOS grass seed mixture is the result of four years of research and development by Barenbrug. It provides the solution for both training and stadium fields: more playing hours, half the recovery time after overseeding. SOS is giving more and more sports fields and clubs worldwide a dense turf all year round.
